Eating up my time...making things for folks to eat ;)

The latest thing to take up my time is not paper roses...and it's not ruffle bags...no it's not even scrappy creations...nor transforming furniture...and it's obviously not blogging!! Been so out of touch with my bloggy side...but life has taken a busy turn...with me taking charge of opening a cafe at our church...we've just been open two weeks, Sundays only at this stage...and so far is a great success. But what a mission getting it up and running!! A very tiring month or so of getting fitout sorted, liasing with plumbers, builders, joiners, sparkies, floor grinders....finding great fridges and cabinets and glasswashers for great prices was challenging, tho rewarding! (had God on my side after all!! lol)... So I am now busy at least two days a week cooking up a storm for our cafe, that seats around 75 and so far has been full both weeks - yay! So here are some of our tempting delights...

A savoury muffin to go with that steaming latte..or espresso...with a little butter and delicious tomato relish...

Some delicious spiced pumpkin, chickpea and coriander salad...

Slabs of ciabatta bread filled with ham and baby spinach and mozzarella just waiting to be toasted to crispy oozing perfection...

Indeed...

Slices of Choc Berry mudcake quickly diminishing in number...that's me in the background awaiting the next church service end for the next 'wave' of people...

fancy some delicious Lasagne and broccoli salad?....

FABULOUS Lemon Syrup Slice (my sisters wonderful recipe) ...I DO love lemon!!...with a lemon curd topping and slices of fresh strawberries...

Filled Panini breads ready to toast.....and below some delicious quiche and chicken and potato hash cakes...

It's tiring...challenging...rewarding...all at the same time! but means I'm too tired for blogging half the week, and spend the other half wondering what I can make that's a bit different this week...I do love cooking, great coffee and making people happy...so this is something very worthwhile to invest my time into for now. So please excuse me if I"m not 'about' so much...I'm still following all your wonderful creative exploits when I can... so do leave a comment and let me know you stopped by...i'll be sure to comment back!
bye for now girls...

  2. Bella! Bella!, I've missed you...but I totally understand! My goodness!!!!If that is church food...sign me up! We have nothing like this at my church! Are the profits from the cafe going to your church? If so...such a blessing...a gift of love for all! You are a gourmet cook, girl! You and your sister need to compose a cookbook from Down Under!!! I have been keeping an eye on your country...I saw Prince William was there yesterday. Now, Japan is in our hope and prayers...
Jess...bless you and all that you do!

  3. Make sure you tell yourself that you are not going to smoke each and every day. As you get up in the morning, you should try telling yourself that you are not going to smoke a single cigarette. Reaffirming this goal in your mind each morning will keep you on track to successful smoking cessation.satta king
